About the role
Are you a visionary leader with a passion for driving innovation in your role? We're on a mission to become the go-to destination for customers to bring their big ideas to life. We're seeking a Head of Category – Mobiles & Accessories to spearhead our merchandise strategy and ensure our product offerings are second to none.
In this pivotal role, you will contribute to our strategic objective of growth by curating an exceptional product range across all channels. Your deep understanding of customer needs and market trends will enable you to identify innovative products and services that enhance our customers' experiences. You will lead a dynamic team, ensuring financial health and operational excellence while driving accountability for range and pricing strategies.
Further, you will be responsible for formulating and executing the category strategic - developing growth strategies for categories and driving the strategic direction of the portfolio while addressing market trends and competitive risks. You will lead the creation of frameworks for range reviews, ensuring all categories adhere to the agreed schedule and standards. Utilizing data analytics, you will enhance the product offering and plan the overall product mix.
Further responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Lead the category to meet sales goals, managing profit and loss while ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Supplier Engagement: Maintain robust relationships with suppliers, overseeing trading terms and agreements to align with our values of integrity, innovation, and collaboration.
- Team Performance & Development: Foster a high-performing team through effective recruitment, coaching, and performance management, while promoting a culture of safety and excellence.
About you
- Education: Tertiary qualification, preferably in business/commerce.
- Experience: Proven track record in a senior buying manager role, coupled with experience in strategic sourcing and leading multi-functional projects. Previous experience planning or business management role for a multi-store retailer will ensure you are a success in this role.
- Skills: Strong planning and organizational abilities, exceptional communication and presentation skills, and a knack for negotiation.
- Attributes: A curious mindset, attention to detail, self-motivation, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
