About the role

As our Data and Analytics team evolves, we’re seeking an Advanced Analytics Manager to join our team and lead a team of 5.  You will see the progression and implementation of advanced analytics models and techniques to support Officeworks journey in becoming a data driven organisation.  This will include developing models and solutions to support Officeworks growth aspirations as well as support the Officeworks strategic programs.  You will partner with stakeholders to provide information and develop models that support strategic decision and initiatives. The role main objectives are:

  • Set and drive the Advance Analytics roadmap to support business initiatives and projects in order to maximise business impact
  • Champion the use of data and AI/ML to solve business problems and allocate ‘use case’ squads to support
  • Support the business with deep dive and actionable insights
  • Work in collaboration with the data teams and the insights team to ensure great outcomes for the business
  • Establish best practices and ways of working for the advance analytics team
  • Mentor and inspire the data scientists, analytics lead and ML engineers in the team

About you

You’ll bring experience in one or more of the following competencies and enabling technologies:

  • Proven project and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong presentation, influencing and communication skills
  • Experience in analytics – scoping, development and delivery of actionable insights
  • Experience in big data analytics and technology preferred
  • Experience leading projects, ideally in retail, ideally within an agile development methodology
  • Team orientated, goals (especially business value/ impact) orientated and flexible
  • Ability to translate analytics output into meaningful insight and communicate effectiveness
  • Familiarity with applied analytics methods, use cases, and resources (modelling/programming skills), with preference to hand on experience in advanced analytics methodologies.
