About the role

We are looking for and experienced Data Engineer to join our Advanced Analytics team. You will support the business with our growth aspirations, designing and building the data ecosystem required to deliver our Analytics roadmap. We are focused on optimising our customer experience and as a technical developer you cultivate relationships with stakeholders and other technology disciplines to improve their understanding and knowledge of data and analytics techniques that lead to Officeworks being a data driven organisation. In addition you will


  • Collaborate with the Data and Analytics leadership to ensure a coordinated approach to Data engineering, Insights & Analytics Officeworks
  • Collaborate with Officeworks business functions to implement data and analytics solutions
  • Maintain a repeatable and automated approach to data management including a continuous deployment pipeline, centralised configuration management, automated testing patterns, provisioning of environments and controlled release to production. 
  • Actively foster the development of a “results oriented” culture within the team 
  • Contribute toward the achievement of the overall Technology strategy and provide leadership for continuous improvement.

About you

You are tech savvy with a passion for learning new technologies and implementing them in a commercial environment. Tertiary qualifications in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or IT will be essential to your success coupled with experience in business insights or intelligence and Data Engineering, Data Warehouse or related roles.


You will also demonstrate the following experience


  • 3+ years working with AWS or demonstrable understanding of the technology
  • Working in different environments, technology and commercial
  • Working with cloud data automation platforms & technologies
  • Within a large complex data environment
  • In data mining, machine learning, natural language processing, or information retrieval
  • In designing efficient and robust ETL workflows and data modelling
  • Traditional and Agile delivery methods
  • Knowledge of data tools and languages, such as Python, Spark, SQL
