About the role

We are currently seeking an IT Development Manager to lead a team of developers across our IT stores team. As a key part of our leadership team, you will have the opportunity to input into our team culture, who we are and most importantly, what we wish to become in the future.

Reporting to the IT Stores Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the implementation, development and support of Officeworks IT Applications that are used primarily within the store environment.
  • To provide the above in a cost effective manner which maximises business benefits and is aligned to our Officeworks strategy.
  • Provide leadership for continuous improvement and a wider implementation of Agile software development principles.
  • Develop ,implement and achieve key performance indicators that are aligned to the overall strategy and strategic objectives of our IT function.
  • Research and understand software technologies and trends as they relate to Officeworks
  • Ensure performance monitoring and optimisation, and continuous improvement of relevant technologies.
  • Contribute to the development and integrity of all relevant Disaster Recovery Plans for store-based Applications
  • Maintain best practice standards and procedures in relation to Incident, Problem and Change Management.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate and lead a team of developers to deliver on goals effectively and efficiently.

About you

  • At least 10+ years professional experience
  • At least 3 years as a Development Manager or similar leadership role
  • A preference for working in fast paced environments with fluid requirements.
  • Excellent technical leadership experience across a broad range of technologies
  • Strong Communications skills, ability to translate technology solutions to all audiences
  • Solution architecture experience, especially with micro services architecture
  • Is a competent leader and thrives on coaching staff to reach their full potential
  • Experienced with Cloud based architecture specifically AWS
