About the role

The Officeworks team is growing! An exciting opportunity for a Merchandise Private Label Coordinator has developed to join the wider Commercial – Global Sourcing team. This dynamic role will be responsible for project managing and leading the private label packaging development process, and will be the central point of contact for all private label artwork, ensuring that brand creative visions align with business requirements and support merchandise ranging architecture.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the private label artwork briefing, development and sign off on behalf of Merchandise
  • Project manage all workflow in relation to private brand packaging development
  • Liaise cross functionally with Global Sourcing, Merchandise, Marketing, Sustainability, and our appointed agents, to ensure briefs are received, content is accurate, project timelines are achieved, and private label artwork is executed in line with merchandise requirements.
  • Confidently communicate the private brand strategies, ensure all brand visions deliver on merchandise requirements and act as a private brand ambassador.
  • Ensure legal compliance in relation to trademarks, registrations, and safety.
About you

To be successful in this role you will have previous merchandise experience working in a medium to large retail environment, ideally with product experience and/or knowledge of private label development. In addition, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • 3 - 5 years previous experience in a similar role, ideally within Merchandise Buying, Brand Coordination or Packaging Development
  • Relevant tertiary or equivalent qualification is preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • An ability to work cross-functionally, to build and establish strong relationships with key stakeholders. This includes the ability to negotiate and influence.
  • Drive for continuous improvement
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of Excel
  • Experience using Adcast and Smartsheet would be an advantage
  • A good attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and organised approach
  • Good project management, time management and process management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team-based environment
