About the role

Reporting to the Payroll team lead this is an opportunity for a experienced and customer service focussed Payroll Advisor to join our People Services team. You will work collaboratively with the People team, and the wider business to support the payroll function in delivering high level payroll services

This role will be responsible for processing payroll and ensuring all team members are paid accurately. Further you will;

  • Deliver accurate and timely weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll service, supported by our outsourced payroll provider.
  • Ensure all payroll documents are prepared and relevant payroll information is recorded.
  • Provide specialist expertise for payroll queries, awards, industrial agreements and statutory requirements.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to our ways of working.

About you

The successful candidates will possess at least 3 years experience in end to end payroll, have worked in a business paying award and EBA covered team members and thrive in a high volume, fast paced environment. You will have worked across multiple Payroll, HRIS and T&A systems (including SAP, SuccessFactors, Kronos) and have the correct knowledge to prepare  and check complex payroll calculations in accordance with employment contracts, EBA’s, Awards, Acts etc.

Further, you will have the ability to:

  • Work to ensure quality control and maintenance of records for accuracy, service quality and data integrity.
  • Provide and promote service excellence and foster effective teamwork and business relationships.
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvement by monitoring adherence to existing policies and procedures etc., and by participating in a range of payroll and service delivery reform activities.
  • Proven ability to anticipate and manage workloads in order to meet deadlines.
  • Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to deal with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both as an individual and as a member of a team.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn new information, processes and procedures.
  • Sound numeracy skills, attention to detail and high level of accuracy required.
  • Able to work with confidential and sensitive information in a professional and responsible manner.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including advanced skills in the Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to problem solve and make decisions.
  • Knowledge and experience in the administration of superannuation, novated leasing and other third-party payments.
  • Proven ability to be able to interpret common law contracts, Enterprise Agreements, Awards, Acts and other industrial agreements, and apply this to employee payments.
