About the role

The Software Developer Team Lead will design and maintain the development pipeline / lifecycle / standards to which the Officeworks Digital Platform [ODP] is built. Ensuring development code levels are safe, secure & reliable, this role provides thought leadership that contributes to the strategic direction for the Officeworks Digital Platform roadmap in line with the overall company strategies and growth objectives. You will always be investigating industry trends and innovation to make suitable recommendations as well as provide development leadership to ensure all agreed CX initiatives are delivered and achieved their outlined goals & objectives. Essentially this role will be accountable for all the development outputs across all digital channels & applications – Officeworks Digital Platform, Mobile Applications, and any supporting systems.

About you

Ideally you will possess: 

  • Several Years I.T. experience – primarily with software development exposure
  • Demonstrated experience working in a large complex IT environment for several years
  • Experience working cross functionally at senior levels
  • Working knowledge of software development lifecycle and processes
  • Experience working with Agile development processes
  • Skillsets such as Technical Lead / Senior Developer looking to transition would be considered
  • Experience but not proficient in Node.js, React, Docker, microservices required
  • Understanding of internet technologies HTTP, SSL, Web services, REST desirable.
  • Experience within a digital team would be advantageous. 
  • Ability to foster the development pipeline
  • Experience guiding and mentoring technical/development teams
  • Appreciation or understanding of retail, eCommerce would be an advantage.
  • Experience with development of all current and future I.T. applications and associated systems by specialising in any of the following: Java, JavaScript (Node.js), .Net, Python, PHP, etc.
  • Supplemented with experience developing with;
    • Web Pages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
    • Web services integration (REST, SOAP)
    • Experience with databases (relational & non-relational)
    • Version control (git)
  • Experience with support and maintenance of current and future I.T. applications and associated systems (including on-call during Business Hours and After Hours).
  • Experience Working within an Agile development environment
