About the role

Our high-performing Strategy Delivery team is focused on implementing Officeworks’ strategy by ensuring that the right strategic programs are set-up for success and on-track to deliver outcomes. The team supports our executive leaders by prioritising opportunities, managing the portfolio of programs, and partnering across the business to plan and lead our biggest strategic, transformational and operational improvement opportunities.     

Our Process Improvement Partners play an important role in driving operational excellence outcomes across the business. They work cross-functionality with various business leaders and process stakeholders to identify, prioritise and eliminate the biggest areas of inefficiency across the business. They will play an essential role in creating capacity to invest back into our ambitious growth agenda, whilst uplifting problem solving and process improvement capability across the business.

This role is a great opportunity to transition from a strategy or operational consulting role to an industry role which combines practical and strategic problem solving with the delivery of outcomes. It will allow you to develop a deep understanding of how the business works and demonstrate how you can work cross-functionally to translate strategic problems into clear action and tangible results. This high-influence role is well positioned to enable progression into operational or program leadership roles in the future.  
Key Activities Include:

  • Collaborating with senior business leads and process stakeholders to identify, prioritise and eliminate the biggest areas of inefficiency across the business
  • Leading problem-solving activity with cross-functional stakeholders across the business.
  • Establishing and leading cross-functional teams to deliver and track improvement opportunities.
  • Providing advice into the scoping of projects, assisting functions to identify and design pragmatic processes and solutions to realise opportunities.
  • Uplifting business maturity by improving problem solving and process improvement capability across the business.
  • Supporting the preparation of summarised progress updates, presentations and/or recommendations for Senior Leadership and Board audiences.

About you

Tertiary qualified, with 5+ years of industry and/or management consulting experience, focusing on cross-functional process improvement or operational efficiency initiatives.

  • You will be comfortable in establishing and leading cross-functional teams and will enjoy working closely with business leaders to drive and track improvement outcomes. 
  • You are a structured and logical problem solver, with the ability to break down complex problems for others, and pragmatically drive solutions.
  • You have outstanding communications and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex problems and recommendations clearly for a variety of audiences.
  • You possess a high level of competency with MS Suite (PowerPoint, Excel).
  • You embrace opportunities to get into the detail and get close to the practical aspects of business operations.
  • You are eager to learn and develop and are seeking a role that supports long term career growth.
  • You have further project management or process improvement qualifications (desired)
