About the role

• Join an exciting Property team with a strong appetite for growth and delivering results!

As Officeworks continues on an exciting period of growth and transformation, we have created a brand new role in our Property function to focus on leasing activities for our Supply Chain sites (with some involvement in new store sites). This key role will facilitate our Supply Chain transformation and Store Strategic network plan.

Our growth ambitions are exciting and through the Supply Chain lens, requires strong industrial property leasing experience to drive negotiations around our wide and varied property portfolio. As the primary point to contact for all leasing, sourcing and negotiation in Supply Chain, this key role will ensure delivery of an ambitious and transformative Supply Chain roadmap.  

Key areas of focus:

To assist in the delivery and implementation of the OW Supply Chain roadmap

• Identify, negotiate and secure the optimum locations in each region/catchment

• Conduct extensive due diligence to ensure sites are suitable

• Manage and coordinate feasibilities, capital expenditure approval, plans, development approvals and cost expenditure on projects

• Negotiate and finalise Agreement for Leases, Leases, Deed of variations Options, Contracts of Sales in line with Officeworks acceptable standards and templates

• Provide market rent information including comparable rents to assist with negotiations of terms for existing site network

• Foster relationships with key stakeholders including councils, State Governments, developers and agents to stay up-to-date with planning laws and regulations

About you

This exciting new role in our Property team is collaborative, engaged and integral to driving our growth strategy. Leveraging established (min 5 years) industrial leasing and/or valuations experience preferably in a similar corporate retail environment, our successful candidate will be tertiary qualified in a property related field and have a passion for industrial and retail.

A strategic thinker with ability to collaborate across all areas of the business, high stakeholder engagement and communication are key.

Skills, knowledge and capabilities:

• Strong industrial market knowledge and networks with existing and greenfield experience

• Advanced negotiation skills

• Financial analysis

• Well developed report writing and research skills

• Knowledge of property and contract law – industrial well regarded

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
