At Officeworks, our customers’ satisfaction and safety with our wide and varied product range is a priority ensuring products sold at Officeworks meet and exceed customer expectations.

We are excited to recruit for this key support role ensuring our compliance with all legal product quality and safety requirements. Responsible for accurate maintenance of product compliance information in our Product Management System, focus will include ensuring products sold at Officeworks meet and exceed customer expectations from a quality and compliance perspective.  

This exciting role will assist with internal reporting on supplier compliance KPIs as well as mandatory reporting to relevant regulatory authorities.

Key areas of support:

  • Research and investigation of incidents, to facilitate solution focussed advice around product safety issues and recalls.
  • Liaison with overseas suppliers and stakeholders to guide them regarding AU product safety standards
  • Run regular reports on product returns and quality issues highlighted by the stores and internal stake holders.
  • Assess new products, outlining testing, and product safety and compliance requirements.
  • Implementation and continuous improvement of a best practice quality assurance program and the development of product testing protocols
  • Internal self-audits on accuracy of safety data sheets, certificates and test reports provided by suppliers.
  • Ensure preparation of timely monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
  • Team member and supplier training on product safety, compliance and quality.
  • Provide communications regarding safe product sourcing activities internally and externally.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in product compliance, product certification and quality assurance management. A demonstrable knowledge of Australian and international technical standards and compliance will be considered an advantage.

Supporting the Product Safety and Quality Manager, you enjoy sharing your knowledge and working cross-functionally to ensure customers are assured they can shop with confidence.

A health and safety champion, you are a natural leader when it comes to ensuring your team make safety a priority and maintain the highest standards of compliance when it comes to product quality and performance.

Key skills and attributes:

• An understanding of product compliance, certification and quality assurance.        

• Experience coordinating a broad ranging and dynamic sourcing portfolio with a focus on product safety and compliance.

• Experience liaising with all management levels and a diverse range of stakeholders.

• Strong organisational, planning and project management skills

• Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Data presentation skills.

• Familiarity with ‘hard goods’, art and craft or technology product
