About the role

Officeworks is an Australian leader in sustainability, that aims to put people and the planet at the heart of what we do. Our sustainability team is tasked with delivering our People and Planet Positive 2025 commitments, that includes taking meaningful climate action by using 100% renewable energy from 2025, planting 2 million trees on behalf of our customers, and reducing emissions in our supply chain.

Our Renewable Energy Project Manager will be one of the key team members in achieving this goal and carbon reduction initiatives that align with our Positive Difference Plan. Reporting to the Energy & Carbon Manager, you will be responsible for leading Officeworks’ solar energy system project, which involves the installation of solar PV at approximately 50 sites. Key to success is effective project management to ensure the project is delivered on time, in scope and to all specifications whilst ensuring stakeholders are adequately managed throughout the process.

In addition, you will:

  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the project is delivered on time.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of OW operational and lease requirements. Parallel working relationship with the commercial, property team and suppliers to deliver efficient, cost-effective projects on time.
  • Take responsibility for the life cycle delivery of projects in operational areas. Ensuring time, budget, scope and quality criteria are achieved.
  • Manage suppliers and installers to ensure all works carried out on site are performed to the highest standard of workmanship and safety
  • Work with Energy and Carbon team to establish review process of operational procedures and ensure best practice in the areas of project delivery

About you

You will have an extensive knowledge in Project management, with qualifications in Environmental, Engineering or associated discipline and you would have managed small and large projects: manage budgets, resources and sub-contractors. Exposure to energy or retail would be advantageous. A key to the role will be having strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to educate, lead and influence stakeholders across all areas and levels of the business.

Please note this role will be a 24 month opportunity.
