About the role

Based in Victoria, this role is the key driver to building a culture focused on workplace safety across VIC & TAS.

Reporting to the National Safety Manager, you will be responsible for developing a market based strategy as well as implementing National and State Health and Safety programs, policies, and educational programs to the Officeworks teams. You will provide expert advice on risk minimisation and OH&S performance improvement to stakeholders, ensuring Officeworks team members stay safe.

In addition, you will:

  • Influence managers, business partners and team members to drive a safety culture with a focus on prevention of incidents in the business.
  • Implement and facilitate training to all key stakeholders at store based and local community level.
  • Work collectively with other Safety Partners in the business to ensure best practice and continuous improvement by delivering strong strategic plans.
  • Compile and report on OH&S and incident trends in safety performance.
  • Ensure that National Health & Safety policies are implemented and monitored.
  • Assist the National Safety Manager to implement the national safety strategy and related projects.

About you

You’ll have extensive knowledge in OH&S, with 5+ years’ experience in a similar style role. You will be passionate about educating others on how to build a culture focused on positive safety behaviours.

  • Previous experience working in a multi-site environment, retail or manufacturing is desirable but not essential
  • You have a valid drivers license – travel will be required between stores across VIC & TAS.
  • You’re an excellent communicator. You have experience coaching and leading teams around HR/health and safety issues and are able to influence
  • You have knowledge of contemporary wellbeing factors and know how to educate others on these.
  • You have strong reporting and analytical skills; you feel confident presenting to a large group of stakeholders.
  • You are proactive in your approach and enjoy finding solutions.
  • You are competent in using Microsoft Office, predominantly Excel and PowerPoint
  • A qualification in OHS/HR is desired.
