About the role

We are excited to announce permanent opportunity for an experienced Security Engineer- Security Operations to join the Officeworks IT team. The position will assist the IT Security Operations Manager to plan, co-ordinate, assess and implement security measures to protect Officeworks systems and data from unauthorised access and disclosure.  

You will perform day to day security operational activities including monitoring of security events, security vulnerability scan and security incident management. This will include activities like:

  • Investigating and responding to security incidents within the environment. 
  • Maintaining the Vulnerability Management platform and supporting related processes 
  • Monitoring and tuning the LogRhythm SIEM platform 
  • Monitor/remediate issues/complete tasks in the Security queues/backlog 
  • Support the IT Security Operations team and wider business in implementation/adoption of security tools and processes. 

About you

Our ideal candidate will hold relevant tertiary qualifications’ and industry certifications in either CompTIA Security+, SSCP, CISSP.

You demonstrate a least 3 years’ experience in a similar role as well as experience working with key legislative, regulatory and industry-based obligations (PCI-DSS, Privacy Act etc).

In addition, you are familiar with concepts and processes relating to security monitoring and SIEM and demonstrate the ability to present complex technical and security information into simple business language.

You thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and pride yourself on your ability to form meaningful relationships with your team and key business stakeholders.
