About the role

We are embarking on ambitious growth plans to make bigger things happen for our customers. As a result, we have a new opportunity for an experienced Senior Data Business Analyst. Joining our Data and Insights team, you will be integral to linking our data and analytics team, functional teams and business stakeholders. Working with state of the art technology you will ensure best practice implementation of data and analytics solutions for strategic projects. In addition, this role


  • Is process focussed, there is strong interaction with technical and business teams throughout the data lifecycle of estimation, design, build, test and run
  • Is a trusted advisor, flying the flag for data and analytics across Officeworks
  • Will work with SMEs to define user stories, documenting data and processes maps and specifications
  • Conduct data analysis, data modelling and ensuring appropriate data lineage
  • Ensuring a high level of Data Governance, Quality and Security of our data assets
  • Provide leadership for continuous improvement

About you

You are tertiary educated with a degree in IT, Business, Maths or similar coupled with 5+ years as a Technical BA on data and insights projects. A retail background is preferrable to ensure a smooth transition working in this fast pace environment with large complex data.


This is a niche role requiring a blended skillset, in an ideal world you will possess

  • Excellent planning and organisational skills as you will be working across key projects
  • Strong Influencing, Communication, Negotiation and Presentation skills
  • Experience working cross functionally and with senior leaders across a business
  • Exposure to business applications, digital, and data platforms
  • Experience in Data Governance and Data Quality
  • Technical capability across, SQL, Data Warehousing, Advanced Analytics and Visualisation
  • Expertise with Customer Data or Marketing technology Platforms
  • Cloud data technologies, such as Snowflake & AWS
