About the role

We have an amazing permanent opportunity for a Senior UX Lead to join our Customer Experience (CX) team, assisting to build the CX strategy for Officeworks using core design principles. This role is responsible for embedding our core design systems and processes allowing our team of passionate designers to have a consistent approach across all channels.

 

Leading our design team, you will:

 

  • Maintain all our assets including, design system, component library, persona’s and customer journeys.
  • Ensure our engagement model is consistent and clear when dealing with stakeholders.
  • Champion and implement user-centred design methodologies throughout the organisation to enable greater thinking and solution design
  • Keeping abreast of the latest trends & emerging technologies you continually push for Officeworks to adapt UX best practices where applicable
  • Be our chief storyteller for CX constantly engaging with a variety of stakeholders, always selling the customer needs, and seeking solutions for customer problems
  • Mentor & coach, the CX Design team to ensure agreed design systems and processes are known and adhered to

About you

 

We are seeking a leader, someone who can engage, motivate, and inspire our design team to achieve consistent success. You’ll be innovative, curious and love solving problems! You thrive in finding creative solutions and driving outcomes. Your exceptional communication skills allow you to build meaningful relationships with stakeholders and will see you collaborate and connect cross-functionally with ease. You’ll need the ability to influence, negotiate and get buy in from stakeholders. We're looking for a storyteller who can take us on a journey, with a customer centric mind-set!

 

Our ideal candidate demonstrates significant Design experience within the Ecommerce space with a strong understanding of UCD principles. You will be passionate and seek to challenge the status quo and look for opportunities to constantly optimise and improve processes. We need a team player, someone who thrives in a fast-paced ever-changing landscape.

 

Additionally, you will also have:

 

  • Previous experience leading a design team
  • Proven ability to deal with change and be comfortable to challenge the status quo in a continuous improvement environment   
  • Experience in creating wireframes and prototypes to communicate design thinking and solutions
  • The ability to Build workshops using knowledge from research to translate business & user needs along with technology constraints for the optimal solution concept - these are then implemented via the project tea
  • A genuine interest in psychology, behavioural economics, emerging technology such as AI and Machine learning
  • Experience working closely with a development team, but also loves to work autonomously and proactively…you thrive on getting things done with a high attention to detail
  • Familiar with design tools such as: XD, Askable, Optimal workshop, Hotjar and Adobe Analytics will be a bonus!
