About the role

Own, drive and manage all aspects of an exciting and transformative Project at the leading edge of Supply Chain! Supply Chain and Logistics at Officeworks is exciting as we drive Continuous Improvement and modernisation of our vast network. As part of our Officeworks vision to double the size of our business, we have a roadmap and program of projects to modernise and expand the capacity of our Supply Chain Network. The primary purpose of this integral role is to project manage the development of a business case for the modernisation / capacity expansion of our Supply Chain Distribution Network.  
 

Based with our leading-edge Transformation Support Team the Project Manager will scope and project manage all aspects of design for our NSW and Qld network. This key 18 month contract opportunity will champion planning, innovation and design solutions to enable continued growth and evolution of our remarkable Supply Chain operations and NSW / Qld distribution facilities.
 

Key areas of focus:

  • In consultation with the Head of Supply Chain Transformation, establish the Scope of the Project, ensuring clear alignment with our Supply Chain Strategy and Transformation Roadmap
  • In collaboration with the broader Supply Chain Team, Key Officeworks Stakeholders, Solution Design Consultants, 3rd Party Logistics Providers (3PL’s) and Solution Integration Partners:
  • In collaboration with our Solution Design Manager, project manage the Material Handling Solution
  • Define Property requirements
  • Facilitate the design the Distribution Centre configuration and layout
  • Where required consult with and manage all external stakeholders including existing 3PL partners
  • Manage the development multiple property and solution design options (as per the scope of the project)
  • Coordinate the construction of a comprehensive Business Case for submission to the Officeworks Investment Approval Committee (IAC) and the Wesfarmers Divisional Board

About you

Project Managing the solution design process of this major Transformation project for the NSW & Qld DC, your retail Supply Chain Project Management experience designing, communicating, administering and reporting on large complex projects, will be valued. Your background in Logistics operations managing warehouse automation projects and transitions between sites within a condensed timeframe, is key.

 

  • An outstanding communicator, you enjoy engaging with stakeholders and can demonstrate sound capability influencing change.
  • Solutions minded, your ability to think ahead and plan proactively is well-developed. You enjoy the challenges of working within a dynamic and fast paced environment and can demonstrate a Continuous Improvement mindset.
  • Established Project Management training plus PMP, PMBOK and/or Prince II certification is preferred.
