About the role

Our Customer Experience Team is growing, with a series of exciting projects in the pipeline, we are actively recruiting for experienced Technical Leads to join the Officeworks family, with both 6-month contract and permanent opportunities available.

With our website as our biggest revenue driving store, this is an amazing opportunity to work with an experienced, knowledgeable team on one of Australia’s leading retail web sites. This dynamic role will see you lead a team of up to 5 Developers, providing technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to ensure a high performing team. You will design, develop, extend and maintain microservices (in Node) and micro-front-ends (in React/Redux) provide a solution architecture for large features. You will ensure that your team delivers major features on time and within budget, whilst engaging with a diverse range of key business stakeholders. You will encourage your team to continually improve their Agile practices and have overall responsibility for the platform’s performance, security, reliability, and maintenance

About you

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • 7+ years solid development experience
  • 3+ years of Node.js development experience
  • Excellent technical leadership experience across a broad range of technologies
  • The right attitude and the ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Ability to quickly understand complex technical situations and clearly communicate the available options to business stakeholder

Experience in the following would be valued:

  • AWS architecture knowledge, including Docker, ECS, S3, SQS, Redis, Lambda, etc.
  • DevOps experience (CI/CD, testing automation, Infra as code, etc.)
  • Microservice architecture experience
  • Scrum / Kanban (Agile) experience
