About the role

As an Analytics Business Partner, you’ll connect data with smart business decisions. Reporting to the Head of Insights, Data and Analytics, you’ll partner with senior leaders across the Commercial team and the Officeworks Leadership Team (OLT) to shape and deliver analytics roadmaps. You’ll support data-led decisions across the portfolio, including Merchandise, Services, and Planning with a strong focus on categories and retail performance.

This role is hybrid, with 3 days a week based at our Chadstone Support Office in Victoria, with Monday being a required office day.

Key responsibilities

  • Strategic partnering
    Work closely with senior leaders to uncover opportunities for growth and optimisation through data-driven insights. Turn complex data into practical recommendations.
  • Insight delivery
    Provide timely, proactive insights across the business. Identify and shape data products that improve decision-making and lift data capability at scale.
  • Cross-functional leadership
    Lead and coordinate analytics projects across functions, working closely with the Insights, Data and Analytics team to deliver outcomes.
  • Stakeholder management
    Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support adoption and value from analytics solutions.
  • Data stewardship
    Ensure data integrity, governance and security in line with Officeworks policies.

About you

  • Experience
    Proven experience in a similar analytics role, partnering with senior stakeholders. Comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. A retail and/or commercial background is ideal, with the ability to speak confidently to category performance and commercial outcomes.
  • Education
    Degree qualified in Commerce, Marketing, Business Analytics, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
  • Technical skills
    Strong capability in Excel, Power BI and Tableau, with experience using SAP, SQL and data platforms such as AWS and Snowflake.
  • Analytical capability
    Excellent analytical thinking with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights in a practical way.
  • Leadership and collaboration
    A confident leader who can drive cross-functional work and engage teams.
  • Customer mindset
    Understands customer behaviour and uses insights to improve commercial outcomes.
  • Growth mindset
    Keen to learn, grow and share knowledge across the business.
  • Problem solving
    Able to think creatively to develop solutions for business challenges.
  • Communication
    Strong communication skills, with the ability to present to both technical and non-technical audiences.
