Title: Business Development Specialist - Education
Chadstone, Victoria, AU
About us
At Officeworks we make bigger things happen. Our customers, our team, and our community are our heart and soul. And if our brilliant people have taught us anything, it is that we can do all kinds of incredible things, each and every day.
Fast paced. Innovative. Inspiring. With close to 10,000 team members and a national footprint of more than 173 retail stores Australia wide – we’re focused on delivering a wide range, low price and great service. We’re about inspiring new ideas and thinking outside the box. We’re about kicking goals, having a laugh and pushing each other. We are about being rewarded and supported. We’re about teaching a customer something new and supporting the community. We’re about making a difference.
About the role
As a Business Development Specialist - Education, you’ll play a key role in driving that growth by building meaningful partnerships with schools, education bodies, and community organisations. You’ll champion our Box of Books (BoB) digital platform and broader education solutions, helping schools streamline their procurement and deliver better outcomes for students and families.
This is a hands-on, relationship-driven role where you’ll own the full customer lifecycle, from prospecting and onboarding to long-term account growth. If you love connecting with people, solving problems, and making a real impact in the education space, this is your opportunity to do work that matters while delivering against sales, margin, growth, and retention targets.
About you
You’re a natural relationship builder with a passion for the education sector. You thrive in a role where every day is different — visiting schools, meeting stakeholders, solving challenges, and driving commercial outcomes.
You’ll bring:
- 5+ years experience in education or B2B environments
- At least 2 years in field sales or account management, ideally within education, office supplies, or technology
- Proven strength in sales, prospecting, and negotiation
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and influence stakeholders
- Commercially minded, with a track record of identifying opportunities and delivering value
- Self-motivated and driven to achieve results
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively
- Team-oriented, with a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement
If you’re passionate about supporting schools and want to help shape the future of education solutions at Officeworks, we’d love to hear from you.
