At Officeworks we make bigger things happen. Our customers, our team, and our community are our heart and soul. And if our brilliant people have taught us anything, it is that we can do all kinds of incredible things, each and every day.
Fast paced. Innovative. Inspiring. With close to 10,000 team members and a national footprint of more than 173 retail stores Australia wide – we’re focused on delivering a wide range, low price and great service. We’re about inspiring new ideas and thinking outside the box. We’re about kicking goals, having a laugh and pushing each other. We are about being rewarded and supported. We’re about teaching a customer something new and supporting the community. We’re about making a difference.
About the role
As the Community Lead, you will be responsible for shaping, developing and executing Officeworks community partnership. This is a pivotal role that drives meaningful social impact, strengthens community relationships, and ensures our initiatives align with Officeworks broader business strategy.
You will lead the design and delivery of a comprehensive community engagement plan, ensuring initiatives are well-coordinated, effectively communicated, and aligned with organisational priorities. Working cross-functionally, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging, clear sequencing of activities, and maximum impact.
A key focus of the role is overseeing the end-to-end operations and communications for the Back to School Appeal, driving both internal engagement and external participation. You will also be accountable for managing and tracking budgets, ensuring forecasts remain accurate and aligned to annual allocations.
As part of the Corporate Affairs function, you will contribute more broadly across the team, supporting business priorities and enhancing Officeworks’ reputation within the community.
This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, hands-on execution, and the ability to influence and inspire others in a fast-paced environment.
This role is a 12 month fixed term contract
About you
You bring a strong background in community partnerships, social impact and corporate communications, with at least five year’s experience delivering programs that create measurable outcomes. You’re confident navigating complex stakeholder environments and have a proven ability to lead, influence and collaborate with diverse groups.
You’re proactive, solutions-focused and comfortable working with ambiguity. You anticipate issues before they arise, communicate clearly and diplomatically, and bring a calm, organised approach to planning and prioritisation. You’re someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can balance strategic oversight with operational detail.
You stay up to date with best practice in social impact, community engagement and communications, and you’re committed to continuous learning. You’re also highly skilled in written and verbal communication, with the ability to craft compelling messages that resonate across audiences.
Above all, you’re a team player—someone who listens well, builds trust, and contributes to a positive, collaborative culture.
