As our Corporate Affairs & Community Manager, you'll help bring that purpose to life through public relations, strategic communications, meaningful community partnerships, impactful events and proactive reputation management. Working closely with senior leaders, you'll shape the conversations that matter and help strengthen trust in our brand.

 

What You'll Be Doing

 

  • Develop and execute integrated internal and external communications strategies that support Officeworks' business objectives and reinforce our position as a trusted and loved brand.
  • Lead strategic communications planning for key business initiatives, ensuring consistent messaging and effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Develop and implement a community engagement strategy that delivers meaningful social impact and strengthens Officeworks' connection with local communities.
  • Design and deliver a strategic events program, including leadership events, community initiatives, stakeholder engagement activities and corporate announcements.
  • Manage the Officeworks media function, including proactive media engagement, PR opportunities, media enquiries and issues management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media, government representatives, industry associations and external stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic counsel and communications support to senior leaders, including media preparation and executive communications.
  • Monitor emerging issues and lead reputation management, crisis communications and incident response planning.
  • Develop communication materials including media releases, speeches, key messages, FAQs, briefing papers and stakeholder communications.
  • Partner across the business to ensure communications are aligned, timely and support organisational priorities.
  • Support and coach leaders to strengthen their communications, media and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts and agency relationships to ensure effective delivery of corporate affairs initiatives.

 

This is a fixed term contract due to commence in Mid-November as a 9-month contract.

About you

  • 10+ years' experience in corporate affairs, public affairs, media relations, government relations or strategic communications.
  • Proven experience developing and delivering communication strategies within a large corporate, agency or publicly listed environment.
  • Strong background in media relations, issues and crisis management, reputation management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex information into compelling narratives.
  • A confident influencer with strong executive stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly organised, adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passionate about community impact, storytelling and building trusted relationships.
