About the role

Are you a creative powerhouse with a passion for digital design? Officeworks is looking for a talented and experienced Digital Designer to join our dynamic Brand team at our Chadstone location. As a Digital Designer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our brand's digital presence and delivering engaging communications across various platforms. If you have a keen eye for detail, a knack for conceptual thinking, and a portfolio that showcases your expertise, we want to hear from you! 

Scope/Dimensions: 
As a Digital Designer reporting to the Digital Design Manager, you will work closely with the brand design team and the wider Marketing team. Your primary responsibilities will include designing, editing and producing in-house digital creative communications for various platforms, such as Officeworks' Social media channels, digital display, brand content, EDM, and instore screens. You will collaborate in an agile and creative environment to plan, coordinate, concept, design, and art direct campaigns, and may also participate in video or photoshoots with production partners. This team meets in our Chadstone office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for meaningful collaboration.  

This is a hybrid role based out of our Chadstone Support Office in Victoria. The team comes into the office to collaborate 2-3 days a week.  

About you

What you’ll bring:  

•    Formal Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in graphic design, digital design, or communications design. 

•    Work Experience: At least 5 years of experience in digital design roles, including art direction, preferably in a busy studio setting, agency, or in-house. 

•    Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including After Effects. 

•    Experience with performance marketing channels, such as CRM, Social, Display, and OOH. 

•    Familiarity with Agile ways of working. 

•    Knowledge of Figma (advantageous). 

•    Experience in on-set or location art direction for photo/video shoots and leading creative teams (advantageous). 

  

Skills/Knowledge/Attributes: 

•    Ability to develop inspiring creative concepts and lead art direction from concept to execution. 

•    Strong conceptual thinking for desktop and mobile design. 

•    Proficiency in designing interactive experiences with animation and social interactions. 

•    Excellent planning, time-management, and follow-through skills. 

•    Effective communication and presentation abilities. 

•    Understanding of art direction and social media best practices, including social-first production. 

•    Willingness to provide honest and open feedback to managers on progress and actively participate in change initiatives. 

Equipment Operated/Technology Used: 

•    Mac, Adobe Creative Cloud (including After Effects), Figma, SAP, Microsoft applications.
