About the role
Join our Finance team as a Finance Business Partner – Planning, where your strategic insight and commercial expertise will drive business impact. Reporting into the Finance Manager – Planning, you’ll play a key role in delivering cohesive, enterprise‑wide financial planning across Officeworks.
This role partners closely with senior leaders across the business, the broader Finance and Strategy teams, and Wesfarmers stakeholders to deliver high‑quality insights, strong governance, and forward‑looking financial plans that support our long‑term growth.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
- Partner with the business to refresh and maintain Officeworks Enterprise Growth Plan, shaping a 5‑year financial outlook.
- Support delivery of the annual Corporate Plan, bringing together category, functional, and strategic plans into a unified financial narrative.
- Lead key parts of the annual budgeting and rolling forecasting cycles, delivering P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow requirements for both Officeworks and Wesfarmers.
- Work closely with stakeholders to prepare annual budgets and ongoing forecasts across functions.
- Support the Capital Investment process, including reviewing business cases, assessing cost–benefit outcomes, coordinating post‑implementation reviews, and preparing monthly capital expenditure forecasts and reporting.
- Ensure strong governance and financial management of new initiatives in line with company policies, helping prioritise investments that best support strategic objectives and maximise return.
- Identify opportunities to improve planning, reporting, and governance processes, contributing to better ways of working across the Finance Business Partnering & Planning team.
This is a 12 months fixed term contract
About you
You combine sharp analytical skills with commercial awareness, turning complex data into clear insights that shape business decisions.
You’ll bring:
- Minimum of 5 year’s experience in commercial finance, with experience in the retail industry highly regarded
- CA/CPA qualified – highly regarded
- Exceptional modelling and systems capability, with the ability to convert complex datasets into clear insights.
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term financial planning
- High attention to detail, strong planning and organisational capability, and the ability to manage deadlines under pressure.
- Ability to collaborate effectively, challenge the status quo, and identify opportunities for process or commercial improvement.
- Confidence in engaging with diverse stakeholders and influencing outcomes.
