About the role

We are on the lookout for experienced Financial Accountant to join our Box of Books Finance team.

Reporting to the Finance Manager Box of Books, you will work to understand our strategic objectives with an inquisitive mind and desire to enhance processes and create efficiencies. You will work with your stakeholder groups to maintain accurate accruals, proactive reconciliation of balance sheets, preparation of budget and forecasting costs, completion of month end processes, half year and year end requirements and partnering closely with Officeworks and Box of Books stakeholders.
These are full time permanent opportunities offering excellent flexibility, based in our Chadstone support office 2 – 3 days per week with the rest working from home in a hybrid working arrangement.
As a Financial Accountant you will:
- Proactively reconcile balance sheet accounts, identifying and problem solving any issues uncovered.
- Prepare budget and forecast costs and assigned expenses keeping in regular communication with stakeholders around expected costs.
- General Ledger, Profit Centre, and Allocation maintenance in SAP
- Liaise with accounting teams in other Wesfarmers divisions to ensure intercompany accounts are reconciled and match at month end
- Support the Finance Manager with other ad hoc requests and projects as required.
About you
You have strong commercial acumen with the ability to present detailed information in a simple and concise manner that is easy to understand. Your strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills, along with your expertise in financial accounting related roles will see you make this role your own. In addition, you will have:
- 1 -3 years experience in financial accounting related roles with a background in retail highly desirable
- Experience using Netsuite and SAP is desirable and strong excel skills are a must
- A CPA/CA qualification or nearing completion
- Good knowledge of technical accounting standards and processes
- A proactive approach, self motivated with a strong attention to detail and the ability to problem solve
