About the role
As Head of Property & Facilities, leading a team of up to 5 leaders, you will provide strategic leadership across our property, facilities, equipment hubs and store design and planning portfolios. Partnering closely with senior leaders, you’ll leverage data, insights and market intelligence to shape and deliver the long-term property network strategy. Your focus will be on optimising our asset portfolio, space and equipment to enable sustainable growth and strong business performance.
You’ll drive commercial outcomes by maximising the value of our physical assets and infrastructure, while leading major programs including store refreshes, renewals, new store developments and relocations. Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and with optimal returns, you’ll play a critical role in shaping environments that support our future ambition.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and deliver the long-term property and network strategy, aligning footprint, assets and space planning to business growth and performance
- Translate strategy into a clear multiyear capital, asset and network roadmap, driving portfolio optimisation and financial returns
- Optimise asset utilisation, leasing performance, construction methodologies and ongoing property costs across a national, multisite network
- Lead property management, leasing negotiations and lifecycle maintenance to ensure commercial, compliant and timely outcomes
- Oversee repairs, maintenance, essential services and compliance programs, balancing risk, value and asset longevity
- Build and lead a high performing, commercially focused team, using evidence-based decision making
- Drive value through procurement strategy, contract negotiation and supplier performance management
About you
You are a commercially astute, strategic senior leader with the confidence to negotiate firmly and fairly. You bring strong judgement to every decision and are prepared to walk away from opportunities that do not align with long term value and business strategy. In addition, you will bring:
- Senior level commercial and strategic leadership experience within large, complex organisations, ideally in a national, multisite retail or property environment
- A proven track record of developing and executing strategy that delivers strong financial performance, asset and network optimisation, and commercial value
- Deep experience leading portfolio level decisions across capital investment, development and optimisation programs
- Strong governance, risk and probity expertise, with the ability to operate effectively in highly regulated, complex environments
- Demonstrated success leading and developing large, high performing teams
- Exceptional ability to engage, influence and partner with Executives, Boards, internal stakeholders and external partners
- Highly developed negotiation capability, driving optimal commercial outcomes
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, including ownership of budgets, capital programs and business case development
- Executive level written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing Board papers and strategic investment submissions
