About the role
Reporting to the Corporate Affairs and Community Manager, the Internal Communications Lead is responsible for executing strategic communications, key events and content across internal channels.
This role plays a critical part in delivering engaging, high-quality communications that connect team members to business priorities, campaigns, and key events. You will support the broader Corporate Affairs function, working closely with all stakeholders to protect and enhance the reputation of Officeworks in line with its strategy.

Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the development and execution of Officeworks internal communications strategy, helping position the organisation as Australia’s most trusted and loved brand
- Partnering with stakeholders across the business to develop and implement targeted internal communications plans, ensuring clear messaging, consistent sequencing, and effective delivery
- Leading the communications and operations of major internal events and key business moments, combining strong storytelling with a practical understanding of event planning and delivery
- Creating compelling internal content including written communications, presentations, photography, and video, ensuring all outputs align with tone, purpose, and brand standards
- You will support a mix of communications projects that are both internal and external facing, ensuring alignment of messaging and reputation outcomes.
- Managing and tracking the communications budget, ensuring forecasts remain accurate and aligned with full-year allocations
- Liaising with Wesfarmers and divisional Corporate Affairs teams on communications, campaigns, briefings, and insights throughout the year
- Monitoring, measuring and reporting on communications performance, providing insights and recommendations to improve effectiveness and engagement.
This role is being offered as fixed term 12-month opportunity
About you
You’re a confident communicator with a passion for crafting compelling stories that connect people to purpose. You bring a blend of strategic thinking, creativity and strong stakeholder management, and you’re comfortable navigating complexity with clarity and calm.
You will bring:
- At least five years experience in internal communications, corporate communications or a related field, ideally gained in‑house or within an agency.
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications or a related discipline, supported by ongoing learning to stay across emerging trends and best practice.
- A proven track record in communicating corporate strategy and leading communications across multiple channels.
- Strong leadership and senior stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships.
- Experience developing engaging content across digital and social channels, with excellent editorial judgement and attention to detail.
- Experience supporting communications for internal events and key business moments, with an understanding of how content and events work together to drive engagement.
- The ability to work confidently under pressure, including experience in crisis communication environments.
