To stay competitive, adapt to changing economic conditions, and maintain our market leadership, we’ve reviewed our operating model. As part of this new operating model, the role of International Logistics Manager has been created to lead and develop the International Logistics team. 

 

Overseeing container and airfreight movements into and out of Australia, and managing warehouse operations at origin locations, this role involves close collaboration with Supply Chain, Merchandise, Finance, and Procurement teams to negotiate favourable commercial outcomes with logistics providers while maintaining high service levels and stock availability. 

 

Additionally, the Manager identifies and implements industry best practices, drives a zero-injury safety culture, and ensures top-tier environmental, health, and safety standards.

 

Key aspects of this role:
•    Promote a proactive safety culture following OH&S policies and safe work practices.
•    Support Chain of Responsibility (CoR) initiatives.
•    Manage  and coach the International Logistics team for high performance.
•    Develop responses to external influences like legislation and fuel costs.
•    Manage 3PL providers and ensure KPIs are met.
•    Coordinate inbound international freight and ensure compliance with regulations.
•    Prepare and manage budget forecasts and negotiate rates with logistics providers.
•    Improve container utilization and manage landed cost provisions.
•    Validate invoices and report delivery variances.
•    Keep stakeholders informed of operational status and risks.
•    Produce reports on the international network status.
•    Identify efficiency improvements and cost reductions.
•    Implement continuous improvement programs.

About you

A seasoned professional with a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related discipline, you have over 3 years of experience in an International Logistics Leadership position. 

 

Having worked with a high-volume retailer or freight forwarder, you bring extensive knowledge and expertise in all facets of international logistics and container shipping. Your strong understanding of retail operations and customer focus, combined with your high level of business acumen, organizational agility, and sound financial knowledge, make you an ideal candidate for this role. 

 

You excel in managing teams, budget control, and possess strong analytical skills. Your interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills are exceptional, and you are both analytical and numerate.

 

Key Competencies:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related discipline.
•    3+ years’ experience in International Logistics Leadership Position, preferably with a high-volume retailer or freight forwarder.
•    High level of overall business acumen, organizational agility, and sound financial knowledge.
•    Demonstrated experience in managing teams.
•    Extensive knowledge and experience in all facets of international logistics and container shipping.
•    Strong understanding of retail operations and demonstrable customer focus.
•    Understanding of budget/cost control techniques.
•    Strong analytical skills.
•    High level interpersonal skills.
•    High level communication and negotiation skills.
•    Effective relationship management skills.
•    Analytical and numerate.
