About the role
Lead the Creative Vision for Officeworks Private Brand Portfolio
Are you a creative leader with a passion for design and product innovation? This is your opportunity to shape the future of Officeworks’ Private Brand portfolio across Stationery, Art, Education, and Office categories. In this role, you’ll drive end-to-end product transformation, modernise design processes, and deliver trend-led, commercially successful ranges that delight our customers.
As the Private Brand Manager, you will lead the design product strategy for the full Officeworks Private Brand portfolio. You’ll manage a team of talented Product Developers and act as a thought leader in implementing strategic initiatives such as shortening the design-to-shelf critical path and modernizing our design operating model.
Beyond Private Brand development, you’ll play a key role in elevating the appeal and commerciality of our merchandise range. By consulting, forecasting, and embedding a trend and design framework into the business, you’ll empower our merchandise teams to confidently deliver coordinated, on-trend ranges that expand our customer base and drive sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver end-to-end product transformation across Private Brand categories
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve speed-to-market and design efficiency
- Lead a team of Product Developers, fostering expertise and innovation
- Consult and forecast trends to create a commercial design framework for the business
- Influence and collaborate across functions to embed design-led thinking
- Drive high-margin, high-quality product development aligned with merchandise strategy
About you
You are a visionary leader with a strong creative and commercial mindset. You combine trend expertise with strategic thinking and have the ability to inspire teams and influence stakeholders. Your experience in product design and development, coupled with your ability to deliver commercially successful ranges, sets you apart.
What You’ll Bring:
- Proven experience in product design and development within retail or consumer goods
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing creative teams
- Expertise in trend forecasting and translating insights into actionable strategies
- Ability to influence and collaborate across multiple business functions
- Commercial acumen and understanding of margin and profitability drivers
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A passion for innovation and delivering products customers love
Key experience:
- Proven Design Manager with a minimum 7 years’ experience preferably leading a design team in a large retail format across general merchandise or apparel.
- Minimum 10 years developing co-ordinated ranges in retail.
- Proven ability to forecast and implement a commercial and broad appeal trend
