About the role
Reporting to the current Product Compliance and Governance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining standards for product safety, compliance and quality, aligned to our risk tolerance and appetite. This role offers a unique succession opportunity, working closely with an experienced leader before stepping into full ownership of the role over the next 6 months.
You will support the development, maintenance and improvement of the Product Management System that defines Officeworks expectations across product safety, quality, and compliance. You will drive continuous improvement initiatives and actively engage in projects related to our Product Management System, ensuring that our processes and product lifestyle approach and fit for the future, are fit for the future across our product lifecycle approach.
As the Product Compliance and Governance Manager, you will:
- Work collaboratively with the Product Compliance and Governance Team to support the governance of the Product Management System, ensuring effective and efficient service delivery to internal clients and stakeholders.
- Partner with the broader Merchandise and Sourcing Teams to contribute to the development and maintenance of reporting mechanisms on product safety, compliance, and quality performance, using both qualitative and quantitative measures.
- Assist in analysing reports to identify trends and improvement opportunities and support the development of recommendations to enhance product safety, compliance, and quality management system performance.
- Support the decentralisation of product safety, compliance, and quality requirements by contributing to training delivery, awareness initiatives, standards development, and preparation of supporting documentation.
About you
You are a people-focused professional with strong expertise in quality management, product safety, and compliance, with the ability to work closely with leaders to drive best practice and continuous improvement. Your analytical mind and approach to problem solving, will see you excel in this role. In addition, you will have:
- Extensive experience (7+yrs) in quality management, product safety, and compliance within a large retail or consumer goods environment.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop teams
- Strong risk management capability, with qualifications highly regarded
- Strong project and change management capabilities with a track record of delivering operational improvements.
- Proficient in regulatory compliance within the retail sector.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
