This exciting 12 month fixed-term Product Developer opportunity plays a key role in creating and sourcing Officeworks’ Private Brand products that strengthen customer loyalty, build brand awareness, and deliver strong commercial outcomes.

As a core member of the Private Brand Team, you will support Officeworks’ merchandise strategy by developing high quality, high margin Private Brand ranges. Working closely with category teams and global suppliers, you’ll manage your own product development portfolio and bring commercially successful, customer centric products to life.

Successful Product Developers bring initiative, drive, passion for great product, and the ability to translate trend and commercial data into compelling product directions for the business.

In this role, you will:

• Provide specialist product development advice across assigned categories
• Coordinate and manage the development of new Private Brand ranges
• Source product, negotiate costs, and evaluate supplier capability
• Conduct market and trend research to inform category and product direction
• Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and industry professionals
• Collaborate with the Private Brand Manager on promotional programs and launch plans
• Create “more ways to play” through packaging, digital content, and enhanced product experiences
• Drive innovation in the way Officeworks designs, sources, and develops products
• Ensure all products meet required compliance, safety, and quality standards

About you

You’re an emerging product development professional ready to take the next step in your career. With experience in retail, buying, sourcing, or private brand environments, you bring a mix of creativity, commercial thinking, and strong stakeholder skills.

You’ll bring:

• Experience in a large-format retailer or multi store environment, ideally with exposure to buying, direct importing, or product development
• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Marketing, or a related field
• Strong interest in global trends, product innovation, and compliance frameworks
• Excellent relationship building and communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross functional teams
• Strong analytical capability and high attention to detail
• Initiative, curiosity, and a passion for creating high quality product
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
