About the role

Play a pivotal role in our Security team as a Security Architect, ensuring security is embedded into some of our most strategic technology initiatives.

Working closely with project teams and reporting to the Security Domain Architect, you'll be the security lead across multiple projects, providing practical guidance from design through to delivery. You'll work across cloud technologies, emerging platforms, and AI initiatives, helping teams build secure solutions while balancing business outcomes and delivery timelines.

This is a hands-on role that requires someone who can work independently, influence stakeholders, and confidently drive security outcomes across a fast-paced project environment.

About you

We're looking for someone who is proactive, self-motivated and enjoys working autonomously. You'll be comfortable managing multiple projects at once, building strong relationships with technical and business stakeholders, and making sound security decisions with minimal direction. You’ll also conduct threat modelling and risk assessment exercises and contribute to Officeworks enterprise security technology architecture.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• Minimum 7 year’s experience working as a Security Architect or in a similar security-focused project role.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, particularly AWS, with exposure to Google Cloud (GCP) highly regarded.
• Strong knowledge of IT Security standards, PCI-DSS and Australian Privacy Principles.
• Experience supporting technology projects from planning through to implementation.
• Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to translate technical security concepts into practical business solutions.
• Exposure to AI technologies or AI security would be highly desirable as you'll be supporting a number of exciting AI initiatives.
• A collaborative mindset with the confidence to influence teams and champion secure outcome
