About the role

Our high-performing Strategy team is focused on delivering an ambitious growth aspiration whilst also embedding a robust productivity agenda. The Strategy team works hand-in-hand with the executive leadership team to iterate & communicate the enterprise-level strategy, develop & deliver functional strategies and govern the enterprise portfolio achieve our vision. We are fortunate to be at the heart of decision making and are in a unique position to have a material impact on the whole business, customers and team members. 

 

This Strategy Manager role has two connected areas of focus. First, you'll partner across the business to develop and deliver strategies that grow the business, enhance profitability, lift productivity and improve customer experience. Second, you'll lead governance across our strategic and transformation portfolio, coordinating Transformation SteerCo forums, tracking benefits realisation, and leading the Board paper process to keep the executive leadership team and the Board informed. 

 

This is a great opportunity to leverage your skills from a consulting, professional services or in-house strategy background and apply them to a dynamic industry role. It provides the opportunity to think strategically, set a direction, and see initiatives through to tangible business outcomes. It will allow you to develop a deep understanding of the business, establish relationships with cross-functional stakeholders at all levels, and build the skills required to progress within the organisation. This is a high-influence position where you will need to build a case for change and take stakeholders along the journey to achieve outcomes. 

 

Key activities include: 

  • Conduct internal and external analysis to inform strategic thinking and formulation of recommendations 
  • Develop strategies and solutions to grow the business, enhance profitability, increase productivity and improve customer experience 
  • Create presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders 
  • Develop business cases and conduct cost-benefit analysis to evaluate the impact of strategic initiatives 
  • Establish and maintain effective governance for strategic and transformation initiatives, including reporting cadence and tracking of risks, issues and dependencies 
  • Coordinate and facilitate Transformation SteerCo meetings, including agendas, pre-reads, actions, decisions and follow-up with accountable owners 
  • Track transformation benefits, milestones and delivery status against approved budget and the Corporate Plan 

 

This role is initial being offered as a 12month fixed term contract based at our Chadstone office in Melbourne. 

About you

 

You are a structured, logical thinker who uses a data-led approach to identify opportunities and solve complex business problems.  You are commercially and financially astute and enjoy evaluating the trade-offs of key decisions to land on the most suitable option.  In addition, you will have:

 

  • Tertiary qualified with 5+ years of relevant experience in a consulting, professional services or in-house strategy environment, you bring a track record spanning both strategy development and governance
  • You are an exceptional communicator with the ability to tell compelling business stories and articulate complex narratives 
  • You build strong stakeholder relationships, possess an ability to influence and establish yourself as a trusted advisor 
  • You are comfortable in an ambiguous and changing environment; you welcome and embrace change 
  • You are curious, eager to learn and are seeking a role that will support your long-term career growth 
  • Experience establishing and facilitating governance forums and are confident preparing Board papers 
  • You have a high level of competency with MS Suite including PowerPoint and Excel
