About the role
As our Supplier & Facilities Contract Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in optimising supplier performance, commercial governance, and procurement outcomes across Officeworks' store fit-outs, and outsourced facilities management partners. You'll be responsible for ensuring our supplier network delivers safe, efficient, and cost-effective outcomes while supporting the successful execution of store and property initiatives across the business. In addition, you will also be responsible for efficiently managing our Support Office operations.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, you'll drive vendor strategies, contract compliance, procurement activities, supplier performance, and facilities governance. This is an exciting opportunity to influence commercial outcomes, strengthen supplier partnerships, and contribute to network optimisation across a dynamic national retail footprint.
In this role, you will:
- Lead supplier and contract management across fit-out equipment and installation suppliers, outsourced facilities management providers, ensuring strong performance, compliance, and value delivery.
- Develop and execute supplier strategies that support operational excellence, cost efficiency, and long-term business objectives.
- Drive procurement and contract governance activities, including tender administration, contract renewals, extensions, supplier reviews, and commercial negotiations.
- Manage budgets, supplier expenditure, invoice validation, and cost optimisation initiatives to maximise commercial outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Establish, monitor, and report on supplier KPIs, service levels, and contract performance, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Act as the key escalation point for supplier performance issues, operational challenges, and contractual disputes.
- Oversee procurement and ordering processes for store fit-outs, fixtures, site goods, and capital project requirements, ensuring seamless supply and delivery.
- Coordinate purchasing, inventory availability, and supplier administration activities to support store optimisation and network projects.
- Partner with Property, Facilities, Finance, Procurement, Legal, Risk, and Store Operations teams to ensure strong governance and successful delivery outcomes.
- Manage supplier risk, contractor compliance, insurance requirements, and statutory obligations, ensuring adherence to all legislative, safety, and governance standards.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance supplier performance, service delivery, and commercial value across the facilities and property portfolio.
- Manage the efficient and effective operation of our Australian Support Offices, including management of a support role based at our Melbourne support office.
About you
What you'll bring:
- Extensive experience in contract management, procurement, and facilities management.
- Strong commercial acumen, including budget management, invoice reconciliation, rate validation, governance, and cost control.
- Proven ability to manage high-value supplier relationships, performance frameworks, KPIs, and complex service contracts.
- Experience delivering procurement programs, fit-out projects, capital works, and goods ordering.
- Strong understanding of contract compliance, tender governance, contractor management, insurance requirements, WorkCover obligations, and risk management frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence outcomes across multiple business functions at all levels of the organisation and external partners.
- Demonstrated people leadership capability, with experience supporting, coaching, or managing internal and external teams.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Procurement, Commercial Management, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience working in multi-site retail, commercial property, facilities, or complex operational environments will be highly regarded.
