About the role

Are you passionate about driving innovative digital solutions? We’re looking for an experienced Technical Lead to inspire and guide our cross-functional engineering squad. Collaborating closely with the Product Owner, you’ll define the technical direction, design scalable solutions, and champion best practices to ensure our digital platforms are robust, secure, and performant. 

This role is based out of our Melbourne Chadstone Support Office 2-3 days a week.  

Key Responsibilities 

Technical Leadership

• Lead technical solution design, ensuring scalability, security, and resilience. 
• Drive architectural decisions, development patterns, and tooling frameworks. 
• Define, review and improve engineering standards and coding practices across squads. 
• Provide hands-on support through code reviews, proof-of-concept development, and debugging. 

Project Leadership 

• Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to understand priorities and unblock the team. 
• Influence squad roadmaps by prioritising technical debt and aligning timelines with business goals. 
• Collaborate with Business Analysts to breakdown business requirements into technical stories, and help estimate efforts and timelines. 

Team Collaboration & Coaching 

• Mentor engineers and promote a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing in a hybrid team structure.
• Lead by example in supporting engineers to resolve critical issues, debugging, and hotfix deployment for production incidents. 

Technology Management 

• Leverage modern tech stacks, including AWS, ReactJS, Node.js, and automation frameworks. 
• Build automated pipelines for continuous delivery. 
• Implement tools for alerting, monitoring, and logging to ensure production stability. 

About you

What You’ll Bring 

Experience 

• 15+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years leading development teams. 
• Expertise in building cloud-native, full-stack web solutions using MACH architectural patterns. 
• Proven track record in digital transformation and agile delivery (bonus, if you have experience in HCL WebSphere Commerce or similar platforms) 

Technical Skills 

• Proficient in AWS or similar cloud platforms, ReactJS, NodeJS, and web services integration (REST/SOAP). 
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing (Jest, Cypress), and IaC tools like CloudFormation. 
• Strong background in monitoring and logging solutions (Sumo Logic, Dynatrace).
