Our Trainee program is a sought after commercial development opportunity to hone and stretch your commercial Category Management competencies and develop your potential. Under the guidance of a mentor, you will flex your skills with sourcing, developing and communicating a merchandise range that specifically maximises financial KPI's and expands customer appeal through targeting our customer lenses.

 

Throughout the 24 month program, your mentor will guide you on a learning pathway with the direct support and guidance of a Category Manager as you execute the buying process of your own product portfolio! 

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement business plans, products ranges and promotional activity. 
  • Manage financial inventory targets and the development of pricing structures. 
  • Monitor the market and competitor activity to create successful merchandise ranges.
  • Foster and deliver positive and compliant supplier partnerships

About you

This vacancy is with our growing and innovative Writing category, a seasonal product range where focus will be on working closely with our Global Sourcing team developing a bespoke range and a focus on sell-through and lifecycles.

 

This role requires previous buying administration support or store operations (min 2+ years) with strong financial/commercial acumen plus a knowledge of internal systems and procedures will enable you to adapt to the administrative aspect of this key support role. A tertiary qualification in business/marketing/commerce would be well regarded as will intermediate to advanced Excel and knowledge of the Microsoft suite. 

 

Commercially astute, you have strong influencing/negotiation skills and are innovative with a keen eye for detail! You have an ability to establish strong relationships internally and externally with key stakeholders.
