At Officeworks we make bigger things happen. Our customers, our team, and our community are our heart and soul. And if our brilliant people have taught us anything, it is that we can do all kinds of incredible things, each and every day.
Fast paced. Innovative. Inspiring. With close to 10,000 team members and a national footprint of more than 173 retail stores Australia wide – we’re focused on delivering a wide range, low price and great service. We’re about inspiring new ideas and thinking outside the box. We’re about kicking goals, having a laugh and pushing each other. We are about being rewarded and supported. We’re about teaching a customer something new and supporting the community. We’re about making a difference.
About the role
At Officeworks, we believe in delivering great experiences – for our customers and our team. We’re looking for an experienced UX Designer who’s passionate about creating user-centred, intuitive and impactful designs that make a real difference.
You’ll be part of our Customer Experience team, helping shape the digital and physical experiences for millions of Australians. You’ll use your design skills and user insights to solve real problems, improve key journeys, and guide the development of cohesive, accessible and customer-first solutions.
This role reports to the Lead Designer and will work closely with engineering leads, product owners, developers, analysts and the wider design team to bring ideas to life. You’ll also mentor junior designers and play a key role in the evolution of our design culture and processes.
This role is hybrid, with 2 days a week based at our Chadstone Support Office.
What You’ll Do

- Design and prototype solutions across web, mobile, and emerging platforms

- Present your work with confidence through storytelling and strong communication
- Mentor other designers and help build a collaborative design culture
About you
We’re looking for a curious, empathetic designer with a strong focus on user needs and a keen eye for detail. You’re confident running your own design work end-to-end and are comfortable collaborating in cross-functional teams. You’re comfortable with ambiguity and helping teams arrive at the right solutions for both the customer and business.
You’ll also bring:
- 5+ years’ proven experience in UX, UI, product design, research or service design roles
- A deep understanding of user-centred design principles and methods
- Strong skills in tools like Figma, Mural, Adobe CC, JIRA and Confluence
- Experience working with research tools and interpreting data
- Strong stakeholder engagement and presentation and story-telling skills
- Experience working in eCommerce and/or large-scale businesses
