About the role
We’re on the lookout for an Education Business Specialist to join our dynamic Officeworks Business team in Western Australia’s Northern Metro Region, based out of our Perth Airport office.
Reporting to the National Sales Manager – Education, this exciting full-time permanent role is all about connecting with schools and education customers across the State, Catholic, and Independent sectors. You’ll be responsible for growing relationships face-to-face—whether that’s through cold calling, meeting new contacts, or strengthening existing partnerships built on trust and value.
You’ll promote both our BAU and Back-to-School (BTS) offerings while driving category expansion into key areas like ICT, furniture, and our growing art and craft ranges. With the support of a fully maintained Officeworks-branded RAV4, a laptop, and mobile phone, you’ll be out on the road building strong relationships and offering smart solutions that support your customers and their communities.
As an Education Business Specialist, you will:
- Be the face of Officeworks for the education community across your local region, servicing customers across government, independent and Catholic school segments.
- Confidently cold call and engage with new customers, including Principals, Business Managers, P&F Committees, and other education decision-makers.
- Build long-term, trusted partnerships with education customers by understanding their needs and tailoring solutions across multiple categories—from classroom essentials to tech, furniture, and more.
- Deliver on sales, growth, and retention targets by developing a regular call cycle
- Identifying opportunities to expand customer spend across Officeworks' full education and business offering.
- Promote and drive engagement with Officeworks’ education solutions including our Print & Copy Services, Workspace Solutions, ICT, and exclusive Back-to-School ranges.
- Stay on top of market trends in the education sector and share insights to help your customers make informed decisions.
- Actively represent Officeworks in local community groups, school networks, and business forums to enhance visibility and create new connections.
- Work closely with internal teams including Store Operations, Supply Chain, Fulfilment Centres and Sales Support to deliver seamless service and support.
About you
You’re someone who enjoys talking to strangers and turning conversations into meaningful relationships. You're confident on the phone, even better in person, and you thrive in fast-paced environments where you can make a real impact. Whether it's a cold call or a school visit, you know how to bring value, build trust, and leave a lasting impression.
You’ll also bring:
- 2+ years of experience in face-to-face B2B sales or account management (education sector or school account experience highly regarded)
- A proactive, self-motivated approach and the confidence to prospect and cold call
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to educate and influence
- Experience working with schools or education groups across a variety of segments
- Ability to manage competing priorities and a knack for building rapport quickly
- A growth mindset and the drive to hit your targets while supporting others
- Competency in CRM systems like Salesforce, and tools such as Microsoft Office and SAP
