About the role

Our Safety & Facility Lead position is focused on building a positive safety culture for our Perth Airport Distribution Centre. This integral role will drive safety control processes ensuring the effective implementation and monitoring of all Officeworks safety requirements and compliance lead by the National Safety Team. Key to this role is the training of our CFC team members and enhancing team safety awareness and behaviours across the site.

 

Supporting the WA Safety Partner to contribute to and implement our national safety strategy and related projects, this role will also be responsible for maintaining the DC’s facilities as the CFC liaison to the support office facilities team.

 

Key aspects of this role include:

 

· Facilitate and deliver safety coaching and engagement on the floor with the team

· Promote and drive the culture of Stay Safe

· Investigation and follow up of all incidents, hazards and injuries using the online reporting system

· Ensuring required pre-operational and operations inspections are conducted and actioned

· Provide advice, coaching and support to the Customer Fulfillment Centre operations team and participation in the Stay Safe meetings

· Co-ordinate and deliver onsite safety training and communication to ensure correct protocols

· Ensure that national Health & Safety policies are implemented and monitored and promote employee health and safety awareness.

· Support updates to SWP's and Process Compliance audits with Support Manager and Team Leaders

· Participate in internal and external audit program where required

· Assist the CFC Manager in managing WorkCover claims and return-to-work plan

About you

 

A demonstrated and natural leader, you are an excellent communicator and problem solver who can engage with others and forge robust stakeholder rapport. Building strong relationships with key stakeholders and team members across the business to support the Supply Chain vision, you will drive CI through continuous enhancements in Safety processes, systems and infrastructure.

 

Our ideal candidate will have 2+ years experience in warehousing/logistics (or similar industries) with tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety (WHS) plus a Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training (preferred but not essential).
